Cape York Institute for Policy and Leadership LTD

The Cape York Institute for Policy and Leadership (CYI) was established as a policy and leadership organisation with the predominant purpose of assisting Indigenous people living within the Cape York region, particularly disadvantaged and marginalised groups, to improve their social, health and economic situations. CYI will develop policy proposals that are rigorous, wellresearched and grounded in the experiences of the people of Cape York. CYI will design and help to implement policy proposals which will have a decisive impact on disadvantage in the target Indigenous communities. CYI is developing policy proposals which will continue to improve the lives of the most disadvantaged. Major areas of focus are: land reform & housing, language & culture, welfare passivity, educational disadvantage and substance abuse.
