Camerata Queensland's Chamber Orchestra Inc

In 2024, Camerata's significant and longstanding championing of Australia music, particularly through commissioning via the company's Emerging ComposerinResidence program and performance with touring in regional Queensland, was recognised with the State Luminary Award presented at the APRA Art Music Awards in Melbourne. The company's main season concerts Beethoven with Alex Raineri, Serenade with Karin Schaupp, Ngapa William Cooper with Lou Bennett & Lior, and Baroque Labyrinth with Davide Monti were enthusiastically received by audiences in Brisbane and Toowomba. Camerata travelled across the state with the 2024 regional tour with both performances, and vitally, delivering educational and community workshops and concerts. In order to enhance Camerata's aged care performances, our first fully scripted Aged Care show Camerata Caravan was launched in Rockhampton. In addition, Camerata performed at Beef Week Australia (Rockhampton), the Mackay Music Festival, and at the Redlands Performing Arts Centre. Work on our Reconciliation Action Plan continued with vital input from our beloved ElderinResidence, Aunty Nancy Bamaga. Camerata continued support of the development of young emerging artists through the Emerging ComposerinResidence program.
