Breakthrough Community Services aims to provide relief to people suffering from poverty, sickness, distress, misfortune, destitution or helplessness and achieved these aims in 2024 through conducting programs in: Emergency financial assistance Provision of precooked meals and fresh food Shortterm practical support with cleaning and home maintenance Case management and assistance in negotiating existing welfare and support systems Connections to other charities and community services A number of courses including budgeting and parenting Counselling and emotional support Coaching and personal empowerment Supported engagement with local community groups to combat isolation Budget assistance, courses and support to reduce early onset behaviour associated with domestic violence, Supporting people in financial hardship and mental illness with unpaid fines through the WDO scheme and community capacity building through a COACH program and other outreach programs. Each of these activities was delivered in a manner that empowers people rather than encouraging dependence on welfare, which is a core value of Breakthrough Community Services.
