About Brandenburg Ensemble Ltd

The Brandenburg provides widespread access to its distinctive Australian performance style through an annual subscription series in Sydney and Melbourne, as well as regular performances in Brisbane and regional New South Wales and Victoria. The Orchestra s enduring success is reflected in the unwavering loyalty of its audience. By fostering and supporting top musicians in this specialised field, the Brandenburg cultivates a dedication and passion that translate into performances of energy, vitality, and artistic brilliance. In 2024, the Brandenburg presented a diverse and engaging program, highlighting the exceptional talent and expertise of both the Orchestra and the Choir. Additionally, we continued to commission and collaborate with Australian creatives in lighting, set and video design, direction, composition, and film. The year commenced with the commissioned production of Notre Dame, a multimedia theatrical work directed by Alana Valentine. Our second series, Baroque Kaleidoscope, showcased the extraordinary talents of our principal musicians, featuring repertoire designed to captivate our audiences. The subsequent three series welcomed esteemed international guest artists, all making their Australian debuts: French harpsichordist Justin Taylor in Night in Versailles, with stage design by Trent Suidgeest; Japanese soprano Yukie Sato in Handel s House; and Italian virtuoso Francesco Corti, who guestdirected the Orchestra in a program dedicated to W.A. Mozart. These engagements are part of our ongoing commitment to inspiring and developing the next generation of musicians and arts enthusiasts, both in Australia and internationally.
