We promoted an appreciation of story for children and young people throughout the community by Providing relevant information via our websites and newsletters Delivering writing and illustration workshops for adults Delivering writing and illustrating workshops for children Providing writing and illustrator retreats for emerging book creators Holding an annual lecture in children s literature Providing expert advice to other bodies and individuals e.g. QWC, QSLA, CBCA, The Lighthouse (Toowoomba), directors of literaturebased events for children Lending our Travelling Suitcases resources free to schools Providing other free resources via our website e.g. Guide to author visits in schools We supported and promoted creators of children s books by Holding Romancing the Stars meet the author events for adults including a new regional event in Toowoomba Coordinating the Write Links group to support emerging authors and illustrators through professional development and networking Offering a $1000 writing mentorship for emerging writers and two writing competitions for children and adults Offering a $1000 award for Children s Historical Fiction Providing reviews and resources for the public via the Story Links website Holding a fourday public exhibition of four local illustrators at Mt Coottha Gardens Holding a 2day conference for emerging writers and illustrators and teachers
