We undertook domestic and international research to develop evidencebased policies to improve outcomes for citizens. We worked to promote these policy ideas by hosting 1:1 discussions with decisionmakers as well as facilitating and engaging in public discussions, through keynote addresses, hosting events, as well as regularly engaging with radio, TV and print media. A significant portion of these policies have since taken up by state and federal governments, with others under active consideration. Questions tackled included how to: ensure access to affordable housing, reduce emissions in an economically efficient way; improve Australia's short and longterm economic productivity; address racism in the education sector; reduce social polarisation; boost innovation, and how to protect Australia's valuable biodiversity for future generations. We also provided evidencebased input and advice at the invitation of government to numerous parliamentary enquiries and engaged with political and bureaucratic decisionmakers on a range of other topics including juvenile justice reform, and how to boost educational performance.
