Blind Sports Australia

We created a range of resources and provided information to a range of organisations across the broader community, to build awareness of people who are Blind and Vision Impaired and the opportunities available for people who are Blind or have low vision to participate in sport or get active. We advocated to the broader sport sector on behalf of members and vision impaired athletes, to provide new and expanded opportunities for people to get active and connect with clubs and sports. We collaborated with a number of sporting organisations representing people with a disability, to raise the awareness, potential and opportunities for people with a disability to participate in sport. We assisted athletes with a vision impairment to participate in sport at an international level, through classification and registration. Through our member organisations, we ran a number of come and try days and created new geographical support to provide opportunities for people who are blind or vision impaired to experience and take part in sport.
