Bladder Cancer Awareness Australia

We aim to advance awareness, further education, support research and promote the prevention of bladder cancer in Australia. In addition to this we aim to provide biopsychosocial support to those with bladder cancer and their carers, who often feel lost and alone. Primarily funds raised in 2023/2024 have supported patients with newly diagnosed, advanced or terminal BC and their families, in the form of various social activities, care packages/financial grants and the running of more formal inperson or online support groups. We have run a GP education programme in which we have generously received funding for from industry in the past. We have presented this work (on how GP's should manage haematuria, that is blood in the urine), both nationally and internationally and have been published in the AJGP Australian Journal of General Practice. We have members who have represented Australia on the international bladder cancer stage, members of and presenting for various initiatives through the World Bladder Cancer Patient Coalition based in Brussels.
