Biodiversity Conservation Trust

We provided funding to both Biodiversity Conservation Madagascar and Biodiversity Conservation Colombia. Both charities do work that fulfills the overall mission of Biodiversity Conservation Trust: Colombia: helping support the Colombian government's efforts to protect the Malpelo marine sanctuary from illegal fishing. We fund and operate a patrol vessel and associated infrastrcture. Since we have begun operations illegal fishing has been reduced by more than 95% inside the sanctuary with zero fishing recorded in the last 11 months. In Madagascar our sister NGO has the lease over a number of blocks of critically endangered rainforest where we work with and employ local villagers to protect them against illegal logging and poaching.
