We manage the website (www.bgbj.org) that collects donations for the onsite team to deliver their projects at the landfill in Bantar Gebang, Bekasi, Indonesia. These donations get sent over to them when requested and we also provide online support and advice as required. The local team provides weekly lessons and entertainment to disadvantaged young people and families who work in the informal waste sector, assist young people in attending school (uniforms etc.) and find scholarships for further education, host important cultural events (such as Ramadan) and organise occasional outings. The onsite team also acts as a hub/advocate to connect local community with other groups/corporations who wish to support the people. For example, last year a major hotel chain sponsored the kids with shoes.
