Bali Animal Welfare Association West Australia Inc.

In the 23/24 financial year, we have raised funds for our Indonesian partner charity Yayasan Bali Animal Welfare Association (BAWA) through the receipt of donations from supporters of BAWA, and participation in Western Australia s Containers for Change program. The funds raised in the 23/24 financial year were dedicated to meeting the financial cost of urgent and ongoing veterinary care for more than 24 dogs who came into BAWA s care. 75% of those dogs were seriously ill with infectious parasite, fungal, viral or tickborne diseases. A further 65% of dogs were suffering serious injuries from misadventure or cruelty and included two dogs who escaped from dog meat traders and found haven and rehabilitation with BAWA. We align with BAWA and are committed to a One Health approach to community care, funding veterinary care for those people and communities where everyday access to veterinary care for their animals is scarce or completely out of financial reach. Almost half the animals assisted with funding from Western Australia in the 23/24 financial year were able to return to their families and communities once returned to health, furthering education that BAWA can and will support them with veterinary care to keep their animals and communities well and healthy. All dogs were vaccinated and sterilised while in BAWA s care.
