Bacchus Marsh And District Historical Society Inc

We raise awareness of local heritage and its people within the district by running information sessions and presentations to community members on local history. We function as an advocate for heritage sites and structures at risk within district. We publish online (via Facebook & Blog), newsletters, books, local newspapers and other documents and work with other notforprofit community organisations to promote heritage within the district. We operate and maintain a local History Archive which has a sizable Collection of historical items for members of the community to access and contribute via donations. We document a publish items of the Society s Collection on the online application Victorian Collections so they can be freely researched outside our district. We are a registered Place of Deposit (PODs) for the Public Record Office Victoria. We provide access to the Society's Collection and research services to members of the public interested in local history. We provide representatives for the Moorabool Shire's local Heritage Advisory Committee. We maintain an annual membership to the Royal Historical Society of Victoria.
