About B-Attitudes Inc
BAttitudes have continued to provide regular counselling/psychotherapy face to face sessions to prisoners who initiate a request for help with underlying issues of addiction and crime, which usually stems from childhood unresolved issues. Feedback from prisoners has been overwhelmingly positive. Released prisoners are followed up within the community to support transition back to work or study and our service summary in this year's AGM report reflects that currently 83% remain in the community post release, or have completed parole, which means a 17% recidivism rate. Many of the individuals have children, and hence this has a positive effect on families, as well as the individual's life, flowing onto the community as a whole. This mission has been made possible by private donations, qualified services provided pro bono, and also an Australian Government Volunteer Grant which has covered fuel costs, and some office equipment.
