The increased uptake of solar, energy storage and other forms of renewable energy has been the leading reason for a reduction in Australia's electricity emissions. Renewable energy is, therefore, a key plank in climate change action in Australia and globally. Action on climate change is critical to protecting Australia's natural environment. The Smart Energy Council has played a leading role in providing information and research on the need to transition Australia's energy system to a lower carbon system.
