About Australian Society for Computers and Law (NSW) Incorporated

AUSCL Australasian Society for Computers & Law is a leading multidisciplinary, intergenerational, thinktank bringing together thoughtleaders from across academia, industry, government, judiciary, and civil society. The mission of AUSCL is to codesign a sustainable future at the intersection of technology, law and society, aligned to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, with particular focus on UN SDGs 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). We express this as Charting the course of our digital future, through Connection, Opportunity and Impact . The Society builds on a proud history of collaboration and service for over 40 years. We published the AUSCL open access Computers & Law Journal with the AustLII Foundation Press (Publisher). Providing academic articles, thought leadership essays and industry reports. We engaged directly with decision makers within Government and industry to discuss trends, standards, and regulatory and compliance challenges, to advocate for greater stakeholder and multidisciplinary engagement We hold several positions on boards of other organisations aligned with the values and mission of AUSCL, including representation on the Board of the International Federation of Computer Law Associations We participate on various committees focused on digital regulation and standards We regularly support and participate on judging panels for local and regional excellence awards, including the InnovationAus.com Innovation Excellence Awards and the ALITA AsiaPacific Legal Innovation and Technology Awards
