About Australian Islamic College Of Sydney

School Roll and Curriculum The Australian Islamic College of Sydney (AICS) is a K to 12 coeducational independent school. It is registered with the New South Wales Education Standards Authority (NESA) and successfully achieved registration and accreditation for the maximum possible time of five years in 2020. The school was also selected for Random Inspection in 2023by NESA and was found to be fully compliant. The next registration and accreditation renewal will be in 2025. The student enrolment numbers on census day were 1296 and we had 118 teaching and nonteaching staff. We are a multicultural school with staff and students from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds. Beyond the realm of academic excellence, we recognise the pivotal role of socialemotional learning and comprehensive support services. This multifaceted approach ensures that our students thrive holistically, both within the classroom and beyond. Our aim is to prepare them for achievements in every facet of their lives. Our Interfaith program emerged as a gateway for our students to connect with peers from diverse faiths and backgrounds. Our teaching staff worked on implementing the new programs in both Primary and Secondary in line with NESA syllabus change requirements. School executives took the role of reviewing and revising school policies and procedures for smooth, effective and efficient operation of the school and to meet legislative changes. Value Added Education In 2024, the college provided Year 7 to Year 12 students with FREE afterschool tutoring in Mathematics. All Year 12 teachers provided free extra support classes in all subjects to our Year 12 students. We also appointed a careers advisor for our senior students. We had reasonable class sizes for better learning and teaching environment and for student and staff wellbeing. We introduced external STEM education in Primary school. The College also hired external sports coaches to run sporting events and lessons for better student engagement, health and wellbeing. Instilling the values of selflessness and compassion, our students embraced charitable projects and volunteered their time to noble causes. Through various charity events, we collectively contributed to important causes such as the Cancer Council, Kids Cancer Foundation, Gaza children s fund and much more. The Islamic department staff continued to work hard to instill good values and character in our students, so they become successful, good Muslims and lawabiding better citizen of the country. Achievements In 2024, the Higher School Certificate results were satisfactory, and some of our students achieved band 6 marks. Our HSC results remain reasonably good even though we are nonselective in HSC cohort, low socioeconomic and weak Year 10 retention rate. Once again in 2024, NAPLAN test was held in March. Once again, our NAPLAN cohort in both Primary and Secondary obtained outstanding results.
