About Assistive Technology Suppliers Australia LTD
In 2024 ATSA advocated for the rights of people with disability and older persons to have access to the most appropriate assistive technology (AT) equipment to provide for their independence and needs. We did this through undertaking numerous submissions to government on the importance of AT and addressing changes to both NDIS and Aged Care regulation and reforms that would seek to diminish a person's choice and control over their AT needs, or limit our members' ability to provide the most appropriate AT to meet their needs. We also met with numerous Federal and State members to advise of best practice in AT provision across the numerous government funding programs that people with disability or aged related assistive technology requirements may access. In addition, we delivered 4 Independent Living Expos across Australia, allowing AT suppliers to display their goods and equipment, train occupational therapists and other allied health professionals in their use and enable consumers to view and test new equipment specific to their requirements. ATSA also sits on numerous advisory boards and committees (such as the NDIS Industry CEO forum, Standards Australia committees, the TGA RegTech committee and NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission provider advisory council) alongside of other research projects, providing expertise to these bodies.
