Armidale Sanctuary Humanitarian Settlement Inc

We continued to provide volunteer support to individual refugee families Settling in Armidale, NSW. Volunteers visited individuals and families in their homes to provide English Tuition, assist with children's reading and homework, and day to day living activities, as well as assistance for new mothers and support for single widowed mothers with young children. We held our annual public human rights lecture. We provided briefing and information sessions for new members. We assisted Ezidis with preparation for their citizenship tests. The Community Refugee Integration and Settlement Program (CRISP) group prepared for the arrival of a Syrian refugee family from Lebanon. This family did not stay long and relocated to be with friends in Vicotria. The group agreed to sponsor a Congolese mother and daughter from Nairobi.
