The Animal Welfare League of South Australia Inc. (AWL) is an animal welfare and care provider recognised for the provision and development of services for companion animals in need. Established in 1964, the AWL operates the state's largest animal shelter at Wingfield, and in additional has another shelter at Edinburgh North, caring for approximately 7000 cats and dogs each year. The AWL's focus is the rehoming of lost, surrendered and abandoned animals and reuniting lost pets with their owners. The AWL is proud of its contribution in providing highquality animal care facilities and related services to the state's animals, their owners and the broader community.
