Animal Welfare League NSW (AWL NSW) has made significant strides in achieving its mission to improve the lives of companion animals across New South Wales. Here are some key ways our work has contributed to the overall mission and main aims: Rescue, Rehabilitation, and Rehoming: AWL NSW rescues animals from situations of neglect, abuse, and abandonment. We provide rehabilitation to ensure these animals are healthy and ready for adoption. Our efforts have led to many animals finding safe and loving homes. Inspectorate and Enforcement: The AWL NSW Inspectorate team is authorised to enforce animal welfare legislation. We investigate cruelty complaints, conduct inspections, and assist in disaster relief efforts. This work ensures that animals are protected under the law and receive the care they need. Veterinary Services: AWL NSW offers veterinary care through our Veterinary Hospital and Animal Care Truck , which travels to regional areas. We provide essential services such as desexing, microchipping, and vaccinations, helping to reduce the number of unwanted animals and prevent the spread of diseases. Community Engagement and Education: AWL NSW runs over 20 community branches staffed by volunteers. These branches help with rehoming animals, providing subsidised desexing vouchers, and educating the public on animal welfare. This grassroots approach helps build a community that values and protects animals. Emergency Relief: During natural disasters, AWL NSW provides aid and relief to affected animals. Our quick response helps ensure that animals receive the necessary care and support during emergencies. Through these initiatives, AWL NSW has made a tangible impact on animal welfare, aligning with our vision that all companion animals in NSW have a safe and loving home
