About Animal Rights & Rescue Group Incorporated
During this reporting period, we have taken in an additional 106 cats and 70 dogs, to the 32 dogs and 18 cats already in our care at the beginning of the year. Our organization is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming animals that have faced abandonment or neglect, often due to difficult circumstances such as housing instability or family trauma. Our compassionate team provides essential medical care, behavioural support, and emotional nurturing to help these animals heal and thrive. Through our comprehensive rehoming program, we connect them with loving families, ensuring they find cherished forever homes. To address to the urgent needs of animals facing critical situations, we have established a program that offers temporary housing and support for pets affected by family breakdowns, domestic violence, hospitalization, or homelessness. This initiative provides vulnerable animals with a safe and nurturing environment while allowing their owners to focus on personal challenges. We also offer these animals medical care and nutritional support to pave the way to reunification, promoting animal welfare and emotional healing for families in crisis. Our team includes two fulltime administrators and numerous dedicated volunteers who provide care every day. We also support local TAFE students and Centrelink approved voluntary workers by offering them valuable work experience at our center. Many of our animals reside in foster homes, where we reimburse expenses, although many foster carers generously choose to donate their costs. In response to a rise in surrendered and abandoned pets, we have expanded our facilities by implementing new crisis kennels for dogs and have expanded our cattery. These upgrades enable us to better meet the growing demand for our services and ensure vulnerable animals have shelter until they can be rehomed. We are committed to providing the highest level of care and compassion while addressing pet abandonment issues in our community. All animals are sterilized, microchipped, vaccinated, and treated for parasites prior to adoption, with those rescued from neglect receiving necessary medical care and recovery time. Our website www.animalrights.org.au and Facebook page showcase animals available for adoption and highlight success stories. We are also committed to affordable desexing programs to prevent unwanted litters but require funding to target key areas, as our adoption fees do not cover essential veterinary costs. We keep our members informed through regular newsletters.
