Alistair Hulett Memorial Fund Incorporated

We encourage songwriters and performers to focus on issues of social, racial and economic injustice and to use their talents to create and perform songs that highlight these issues. The annual Songs for Social Justice Award which the Alistair Hulett Memorial Fund has run for the past 14 years was awarded for the last time in April 2024. From a record number of 20 entries in that year, the awardee was Paddy McHugh for his composition (lyrics and music) Hatchet In The Roof.
