About Alcoholics Anonymous South Australia Central Region
We provide help to people with a drinking problem to stop drinking and recover from from the effects of alcoholism. We assist professionals who work with problem drinkers by providing them with information about AA. We inform the general public about AA via our up to date website and provide literature where requested. We maintain an afterhours phone service using volunteers who take calls and assist newly sober people. We provide public information sessions at various locations including the Police Academy, rehabilitations services and shopping centres. Members also make radio announcements, place notices in community sections of newspapers, place posters on community noticeboards, medical centres and places of worship. We have also set up regular visits to correctional facilities and remand centres. We maintain a central office for administration and communication supporting the 100+ AA meetings in South Australia.
