Aged and Disability Advocacy Australia

ADA Australia provided free and confidential advocacy services to older people and people with disability in metropolitan, regional, rural and remote communities across Qld, including: support for older people who have issues with accessing services or experiencing service or care related problems; specialist support services to assist older people in need to access aged care and other services in their communities; information, referrals and individual advocacy support for people with disability who are experiencing issues with their support services, disability discrimination or unfair treatment; information, referrals and individual advocacy support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people; support, legal advice and representation for people living with cognitive impairments or who have their capacity questioned, when dealing with guardianship and administration matters, including representation at the Qld Civil and Administrative Tribunal; information and individual advocacy support for older people living in residential aged care who are experiencing or at risk of elder abuse; legal advice, support, advocacy and representation for older people across western and outback Qld to uphold rights, have a say and live free from abuse and neglect; delivery of free education sessions to residents and staff in every aged care facility and home care service throughout Qld.
