AfricanAustralian Family and Parenting Support Services (AFPSS) supports AfricanAustralian families and others facing parenting challenges through social support, education, and practical strategies for positive parenting. We promote effective communication, loving discipline, and connection to local services while bridging gaps between families and service providers across Victoria. Our community work and research show that limited cultural awareness among some service providers creates barriers to practical support. Through awareness campaigns, training, and information sessions on AfricanAustralian parenting, AFPSS aims to build cultural understanding, dispel myths and stigma, and improve access to culturally appropriate services.
