About Access2Arts
Access2Arts supports Deaf and disabled people in South Australia to get involved in the arts as audiences, participants, artists, arts workers and leaders. Arts and cultural organisations to become more inclusive and accessible. We celebrate the unique perspectives, stories and aesthetics of d/Deaf and disabled artists, and the value of telling our own authentic stories through art and we amplify the voices of d/Deaf and disabled people in the arts. In a year of significant change across the arts sector, both in South Australia and nationally, in 2024 Access2Arts was proud to lean in to our role as a trusted partner and advisor forgovernment, arts and disability organisations continuing to work toward our purpose to foster an inclusive arts community that develops, embraces and celebrates the unique talents, skills and perspectives of people who are d/Deaf or disabled. Demand for our Access and Inclusion training and consulting grew significantly, seeing our staff deliver training to over 800 arts, festival and event staff. Our audio description service continued to strengthen and diversify and once again a record number of disabled artists receiving support and advice, making further progress to our vision of freating a future where d/Deaf and disabled people thrive within an inclusive arts ecology.
