Aboriginal Legal Service of Western Australia Limited

We provide criminal, civil and family legal representation and support services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people throughout Western Australia. Other services provided include bail support and prison inreach services, community legal education, custody notification services, work and development permit scheme, youth engagement programs, family and domestic violence support. The purpose of our activities is to provide direct relief to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people (beneficiaries) from poverty, suffering destitution, misfortune, distress and helplessness caused directly or indirectly by involvement with the laws and legal system of the Commonwealth and States of Australia and all ancillary matters. Each year over 20,000 legal matters (case, advice and duty matters) are undertaken on behalf of the beneficiaries.
