To promote the welfare of the district and its ratepayers and residents by: 1 supporting improvements to community services and amenities, encouraging restoration of the environment and the preservation of the natural character of the coast; 2 providing ratepayers and residents with information on matters of relevance and conveying their views and interests to the appropriate authorities.
