About The New Zealand Aviation Museum Trust
To establish a permanent "living" centre of aviation heritage, which will fascinate, educate and inspire visitors of all ages, at the same time forming a nucleus for a broader centre of excellence facilitating activity and commerce on all levels. Establish and maintain a world class facility to store, maintain and display original and replica historic aircraft. Hold regular flying days to showcase the collection and bring aviation history to life, with special emphasis on the biennial Classic Fighters airshow. Educate the public on aviation and its place in our history. Encourage classic aircraft construction and build up an archive of film and print material. Market the Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre as a tourist destination for national and international visitors. Develop relationships with other cultural and heritage facilities.
