About Te Runanga o Te Hiika a Papauma Ki Wairarapa
In late 2006 at a hapu meeting it was decided that we should formalise and professionalise the hapu. Engagement (both internal and external) with people and organisation was becoming more and more apparent. The hapu saw the need to analyse what we were providing already in the way of information, activities etc and what we might provide for whanau/hapu/community going into the future. The upcoming Treaty of Waitangi claims may provide our people a collective benefit to Papauma and it descendants. The interests of Papauma have been represented in this arena by the trustees of this trust.
