Support the professional growth of music educators through workshops, events, conferences, mentoring, and resource development. Foster cultural and community connection by: - honouring te ao Māori, including local mana whenua and cultural frameworks - encouraging the use of te reo Māori and waiata in education - creating learning opportunities that reflect the cultural diversity of Aotearoa and Otago, including events for schools. Facilitate collaboration and networking, including: - connecting with local, regional, national, and international organisations that share similar purposes (especially MENZA). Advocate for the value of music education as a vital component of student wellbeing, creativity, cultural identity, and academic success.
