The New Zealand Wheelchair Bodybuilding Federation (NZWBBF) was set up to provide sporting opportunities for people with physical disabilities. In preparing for events each NZWBBF athlete is encouraged to adopt regular exercise and healthy eating habits. Additionally, through contest preparation and participation, confidence and a sense of personal achievement is encouraged. Community participation is also encouraged and supported. Since its inception, the NZWBBF has brought together a sizable group of like-minded people in the spirit of fair play and mutual goal achievement. The NZWBBF’s mission is to empower people with physical disabilities to pursue excellence while developing their full potential through sporting competition and physical fitness training.
The NZWBBF (a Waikato-based not-for-profit organisation) currently holds seven contests annually. The NZWBBF provides for its members -A Hamilton-based gym to prepare for events. -Opportunities to compete alongside their peers
