United way hastings & prince edward is a community impact & fundraising organization. We implement an annual fundraisingcampaign to raise funds within our local community; those funds are then allocated back to community agencies who aredelivering programs or services within one of our three areas of priority: all that kids can be poverty to possibility and strongcommunities. We are committed to leading or actively participating in community collaborations to increase the community'scapacity to respond to the most significant pressures and priorities in our catchment areas. We mobilize hundreds of volunteersthrough our fundraising campaign the allocations process & initiatives that encourage the whole community to act & contributein a variety of ways. We lead a variety of initiatives in the community such as inclusive communities which is focused on creatingequitable diverse and inclusive communities; the back packs for success program ensuring local students have the tools andresources they need to be successful in school; food security initiative to address the food insecurity levels locally & themiscomception that food banks/programs can only receive non-perishable food items united way hpe operates the freshforall.caprogram which is aimed at mobilizing the community to donate fresh foods to local food banks and food programs.
