Twin Meadows Animal Rescue Society

Twin Meadows Animal Rescue Society is a volunteer-run registered Canadian charity based in Fernie BC. We serve the Elk Valley region by rescuing rehabilitating and rehoming abandoned neglected and surrendered companion animals primarily cats and dogs. Our ongoing programs include: Animal Rescue and Intake: We take in animals from local surrenders stray situations and partner organizations including overburdened shelters and nearby First Nations communities. Foster-Based Shelter Model: All animals are placed in foster homes throughout the Elk Valley where they receive care in a home environment until they are adopted. Veterinary Care and Sterilization: All animals receive veterinary treatment including vaccinations spay/neuter surgery and medical rehabilitation as needed before adoption. Adoption Coordination: We carefully match adoptable animals with appropriate forever homes. Adoptions include a review process and post-adoption support. Community Education and Awareness: We use social media and outreach to promote responsible pet ownership including the importance of spaying and neutering vaccinations and humane care. Volunteer Program: We are powered entirely by volunteers who assist with fostering transport adoption events and fundraising.
