We continue to negotiate manage maintain build seek financial support and promote the trans canada trail and other non-motorized greenway trails in british columbia. Tmix* tours continued for 2024. This initiative began as a means to promote inclusion and diversity in the outdoor recreation sector and indigenous land acknowledgement. Society of bc provided programming benefiting indigenous youth elders and families especially those from westbank amd tsawwassen forst nations (tfn) who use these trails to connect to land and the community as well for safe active transportation and recreation. These activities included building a bench with tsawwassen art; land-based educational tours; engaging indigenous youth and the community; building relationships with organizations; through presentations and meetings; and mentorship. We are continuing to work on the indigenous women and youth leadership in access to teh land and trails initiative. Our vision focuses on fostering inclusion and uplifting marginalized voices to create equitable trails for all. Embracing matriarchal ways invloves recongizing and valuing women's contributions to leadership and decision-making processes and the rich martiarchal history of the tsawwassen first nation. We value cultural repoect honoring and celebrating indigenous traditions and practices within our programming.
