The William Morris Society of Canada

Inspired by william morris a 19th century artist writer conservationist & craftsman william morris society of canada (wmsc) exists to foster knowledge of his work life & philosophy which continues to have meaning & relevance to & for the arts culture & society today. Wmsc does this by presenting lectures tours trips & special events to educate & inform our members & the general public of the work of william morris & his followers in the arts & crafts movement the founding of which has been attributed to morris & his contemporaries. Newsletters & bulletins describing our programs & providing other information of interest on the subject are sent to our members & provided to others. Wmsc also maintains a web site & other social media. Among our members are several university & public libraries & institutions. Our activities are focused on the purpose as expressed above. The actual events vary from year to year. The society depends on many volunteers to carry out our programs. There are no paid staff. Presenters of some events are given a token honorarium to cover the costs of their contribution. Forthcoming events will included a heritage/craft trip to the niagara area architectural heritage of toronto life of william & jane morris stained glass window and building heritage yule event & a symposium. Events are held in-person or online in a hybrid format.
