About The No Society - by Survivors for Survivors
1. Education Program 'The Beacon'. Our Education Program exists to educate the community around us about the realities of sexual violence in our community as well as the services and resources available to those who experience sexual violence and what medical and criminal justice options look like in our community. We do this by hosting an online catalogue of local resources by creating educational materials to distribute to the public both online and by hand and by teaching seminars and workshops about these things. We also give out books and resources for free which educate the public on these things. 2. Survivor Care Program Our Survivor Care Program exists to assist survivors as they take steps in their journey to recovery from their abuse and justice in their situation. We provide peer support sessions for survivors in our office and remotely and provide an ongoing support program for survivors who are working to heal from their abuse. We have 4 peer support workers who commit one day per week each to this work. Our care program provides referrals when necessary and also pays for important steps to recovery which would otherwise be inaccessible. Our peer support team also provides accompaniment to outside appointments such as hospital visits police reporting and follow up and counselling appointments.
