The First Open Heart Society of British Columbia

The society's main purpose is the support and encouragement of patients and their families before and after heart surgery by society volunteers who have undergone related surgery. Related activities include: (a) operation of the victoria heart house a bed and breakfast establishment for the accomodation of spouses and their families during their hospitalization. (b) visitation of patients at the jubliee hospital after heart surgery. (c) financial support for: -purchase of specialized hospital equipment for cardiac care -bursary with the camousan college foundation -emergency financial assistance for needy heart surgery patients
