About The Canadian Council of the Blind
During this fiscal period the canadian council of the blind continued to further its mission by continuing our existing programs. These programs are designed to support and enhance the lives of individuals who are blind or living with vision loss across canada. Two key programs that have and continue to be instrumental in achieving our objectives this year are the mobile eye clinic and the get together with technology (gtt) program. The mobile eye clinic operates by travelling across eastern ontario providing essential eye health services directly to communities especially those often overlooked and under-served. This initiative is crucial in preventing and reducing vision loss through early detection and timely intervention. Additionally the gtt program focuses on empowering individuals living with vision loss through technology. This program offers workshops one-on-one support and group sessions to teach the use of accessible technology thus enhancing participants' ability to perform daily activities and improving their overall quality of life.
