The arthritis research centre society of canada conducts practical research into the prevention self treatment and self management of arthritis for canadians. With more than 50 research projects iinto the many forms of arthritis underway arc scientists are evaluating current treatment developing new treatment and looking for ways of detecting arthritis at an earlier stage in order to limit the damage done. Arc's main goals are to: 1 - prevent arthritis 2 - limit disability and improve the quality of life of those affected by arthritis. 3 - develop improved tools for the assessment of health and function for those with arthritis. 4 - evaluate and improve health services and to determine cost effective health promotion and health care.
