South Winnipeg Seniors Resource Council Inc.

1. Information and resource council for seniors through presentations networking website email phone in calls print materials zoom calls. Currently updating and expanding the website to be more comprehensive and user friendly. Our council provides service to 38 000 older community members. 2. Administer a congregate meal program along with the tenant association of a seniors apartment block providing 3 lunches per week with takeout and delivery available within the block. Served 4500 meals per year in september 2023 we opened a seniors resource centre in a local community centre. It had been open until 2019 under other direction but then closed down during covid pandemic. The previous board of directors was no longer able to maintain the centre and our board was able to resurrect it and through the past fiscal year and bring it back to a lively and active location providing knowledge resources and social interaction. As it is in a lower income area of the constituency that we serve we strive for ongoing grants and funding in order to provide our services at no charge
