Direct aid - senior's access to food packages as well as health and direct aid supports settlement and integration services - job connection supports; participated in weekly online employability skill-building and computer literacy trainings/workshops; and referrals to legal immigration housing health and other services to meet their urgent settlement needs.support low-income individuals and their families access the public income support programs and increase their online financial literacy skills social and cultural programming- online and in-person cultural events and seniors and intergenerational social circles were organized to foster social bonding and connections share and receive health and social services information and organize community discussions. Sawis also operates a community garden to promote community bonding. Civic engagement- : providing information about canadian civic affairs; by offering skills development community leadership and civic action training; hosting public education forums on civic affairs; and supporting connection of newcomers with civic organizations networks and initiatives organizational capacity building-several workshops and training sessions to equip the board of directors advisory board staff and volunteers and membership with the knowledges and skills needed for effective decision-making and strategic planning.
