The Foundation continued to fund student thesis and research projects in the field of Economic Geology for costs related to field work geological and geochemical analysis. Undergraduate scholarships: publicly available to support work related to a senior thesis in Economic Geology. Students must be entering their fourth year at a recognized Canadian University. Notice is sent every year to universities and a volunteers' committee assists in the selection process. During 2024 SEGCF awarded eight (12) undergraduate scholarships at $1 000 each for a total of $12 000. Graduate student fellowships: general support for qualifying students from around the world who have been accepted into a graduate program leading to a master's or doctoral degree. SEGCF awarded seven (5) fellowships totalling $40 000 during 2024. Student research grants: aimed at supporting graduate student thesis research leading to master's or doctoral degrees in Economic Geology. Priority is given to Canadian students or students studying at Canadian universities or with Canadian thesis topics. During 2024 SEGCF awarded 19 grants totalling $95 902.
