Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan Festival Inc.

Producing contemporary and traditional productions of plays by shakespeare and his contemporaries performed by professional artists on the banks of the south saskatchewan river in saskatoon. Over 120 volunteers put in over 2000 hours of volunteer work in 2023. Providing special performances for at-risk youth and families providing workshops and discussions post-show on selected performances. Providing a community stage for musical visual literary and performance artists and community groups to share their talents. Working in partnership with the saskatchewan writer's guild to present live readings during selected evenings at the festival site. Providing a special performance for newcomers to canada by dispersing tickets to local newcomer organizations. Contracting a writer in residence to work on an origional script based on and around shakespeare.
