Grand Manan Whale and Seabird Research Station Inc

1. Monitoring large whales seabirds sharks and lobsters in the Bay of Fundy focusing on diet numbers distribution tracking (radio/satellite/physical tags) banding/photo-identification specific studies of lipids (fats) and reproduction in marine species. 2. Developing and distributing right whale and basking shark/shark stewardship and conservation material and collaborating with other groups. 3. Providing public education of marine animals through museum displays lectures outdoor signs websites handouts. 4. Responding to marine animals in distress including entangled whales. Our scientific staff largely volunteer their time with small stipends for our interns who receive hands-on experience in summer months.
