About Child Welfare Political Action Committee Canada
1. Research life outcomes of youth raised in care and advocate for evidence-based policies programs and standards. 2. Amend legislation for data of youth raised in care: define an appropriate access period seal files after access period archive data in separate database and allow third party access to archived files through the courts. 3. Advocate for trauma informed service and education in child welfare as well as a government youth mental health strategy. 4. Increase post-secondary enrollment by negotiating free tuition for current and former youth in care and other evidence-based policies. Trades Ready Youth (TRY) helps youth and young adults in and from care kickstart a career in the trades through support guidance resources and community. TRY is proud to work with unionised construction training centres and post-secondary institutions across Ontario to support youth by providing them with the foundation resources and guidance they need to pursue new pathways towards a brighter future.
