Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society

Cmos exists for the advancement of meteorology and oceanography in canada. We publish a refereed scientific journal atmosphere-ocean and a bimonthly bulletin for members containing short articles new and reviews. We host regular public lectures at fourteen cmos centres and at the annual congress. We hold an annual scientific conference. We cosponsor conferences and workshops with other scientific organizations. We issue public position statements on socially relevant scientific issues. We provide scholarships bursaries prizes awards and citations for excellence in atmospheric and oceanic science in teaching public presentation and interpretation etc. We provide support for schools students and educators at local science fairs across canada. We provide support for teachers through seminars participation in programs with our partner societies and online material.
