Name of Activity: Public Church Services The Emmaus Community provides church services called the AbbeyChurch on a weekly basis. Clergy musicians and other volunteers conduct a service of the word and sacrament on Sundays at 4 pm. These services are open to the public and currently have between 25 and 40 people attending. The church service includes scripture readings hymns sermon and holy communion. Name of Activity: Daily offices of prayer The Emmaus Community comes together to pray frequently throughout the week. The wider community is invited and welcomed to these times of prayer. Currently (June 2025) we gather for Morning Prayer on Mondays Tuesdays Thursdays and Fridays in person and online via zoom. Name of Activity: Partner with the North Park Neighbourhood Association in delivering groceries to those in need in our neighbourhood. This includes volunteer time and receiving and disbursing grants on their behalf. This is an ongoing partnership. Name of Activity: Partner with QomQem Coastel Connections in delivering food relief to the unhoused in downtown Victoria on Sunday Evenings. Emmaus/AbbeyChurch provides a kitchen for the making of sandwiches and putting together of food bags. Folk from Emmaus/AbbeyChurch also volunteer their time. This program started in Spetember 2024 and continued to the spring of 2025.
