Amnesty International Canadian Section (english Speaking)

Amnesty international toronto organization (aito) is the co-ordinating body serving the amnesty groups networks teams and general membership in the greater gta. It: 1. Promotes communication linkages joint campaigning on human rights efforts and co-ordination among local ai groups networks teams campaigns and members. 2. Raises public awareness educates and involves the gta community in human rights issues and campaigns through campaign events public events educational materials fundraising website and merchandising of ai branded goods. 3. Promotes and protects human rights through assisting in international ai campaigns by letter writing and publicity 4. Funds and supports local ai groups team entities with their human rights activities and ai campaigns and provides financial support for membership education in human rights issues and campaigns 5. Fundraises to finance these initiatives. All of the above is done by volunteers which represents thousand of hours of time and effort.
