Yass And District Historical Society Incorporated

We consolidated our archival and exhibition activities and holdings in an upgraded building to better support public interaction with our services and activities. We ran an exhibition to mark the 200th anniversary of the Hamilton/Hume expedition and conducted a wide range of other public activities such as historical town walks for Seniors' Week and 'Graveside Yarns' that focussed on the stories of early settlers in the district. We achieved grant funding to partially pay for a Significance Assessment of our collection that will guide our future activities, grant applications and how we may interact with State and national cultural organisations. We ran regular members' meetings, published our monthly newsletter and our journal 'Boongaroon', and gave talks to local school groups on aspects of the town's development and social history. We greatly increased our social media interactions, posting events, activities, stories, multipart histories, photos, reels etc highlighting the organisation and its links with the broader community and the area's history and heritage.
